1About these terms
Shotbox is provided by [Legal name, e.g. Shotbox Ltd], a [private limited company / sole trader] registered in [England and Wales] (company number [Company number]), whose registered office is [Registered office address]. You can reach us at support@shotbox.example.
These terms apply when you subscribe to and use the Shotbox app. Please read them with our refund and cancellation policy and privacy policy. If you are buying as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
Our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, is the merchant of record for all orders and handles payments, invoices and VAT. Its buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
2Your subscription
- Shotbox costs £5.60 per month [including VAT / VAT is not charged]. Team subscriptions cost £5.60 per person per month.
- You pay monthly in advance. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- You must be 18 or over to subscribe.
- If we change the price, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. You can cancel before then if you don’t want to continue.
- If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is paid.
3Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt email or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have paid for, and you keep access until then. There is no fee for cancelling.
Consumers also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days, explained in our refund and cancellation policy, along with our money-back guarantee.
4Your licence to use Shotbox
While your subscription is active, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Shotbox on up to three Macs that you own or control.
- Commercial and client work is allowed. You can use what you make with Shotbox for yourself, your employer or your clients, including paid work.
- A team subscription covers one named person per seat. Seats can be reassigned when someone leaves.
- You may not share your licence, resell or sublicense the app, or try to get around the subscription check.
- You may not copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
5Your content
Everything you make with Shotbox belongs to you. Your recordings, screenshots, projects and exports stay on your Mac, and we don’t receive them or claim any rights in them.
You are responsible for what you record and publish. That means having the right to use any material you capture, including other people’s websites, posts, logos and footage, and getting consent where the law requires it before recording other people.
Because your files live only on your Mac, please keep backups. We can’t recover files that are lost or deleted.
6Updates
Updates and new features are included while you subscribe. We may change or improve the app over time. If we make a change that significantly reduces what Shotbox does, we will tell you, and consumers may cancel and receive a refund for any period paid for but not yet used.
7Apple and other services
Some features use parts of macOS, such as speech recognition, camera effects and Apple Intelligence. Their availability depends on your Mac, macOS version and settings, which are outside our control. Shotbox requires macOS 14 or later.
8If something goes wrong: consumers
If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If Shotbox isn’t, you may be entitled to a repair or replacement, or a price reduction or refund. For more on your rights, see Citizens Advice.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. If defective digital content we supply damages a device or other digital content you own, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation, unless the damage was caused by you not following our instructions or applying a free update we offered.
As a consumer, you use Shotbox for private purposes; if you use it for business, the next section applies to that use.
9If something goes wrong: business customers
If you subscribe for business purposes, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
10What we never exclude
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
11Ending your access
We may suspend or end your subscription if you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing or reselling your licence. We will tell you why, and where the problem can be fixed, give you a chance to fix it first.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email subscribers about significant changes at least 30 days before they apply, and you can cancel before then if you don’t agree.
13Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there. Please contact us first; most problems can be fixed with an email.
